THE ALPHA LAMBDA CHAPTER OF
THE ALPHA LAMBDA CHAPTER
of Sigma Lambda Upsilon/Señoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority, Inc. was established at Montclair State University in the Spring of 2009 by four passionate and dedicated young women:
Hermana Yadhira Checo, Hermana Ramona Batista,
Hermana Margarita Rivas & Hermana Katherine Batista
The journey began in 2005 with the establishment of the official interest group at Montclair State University. Through many failed interest groups and obstacles with administration, the Hermanas and chapter founders worked diligently to overcome all the hardships that came with the journey.
The Alpha Lambda Chapter of Sigma Lambda Upsilon/Señoritas Latinas Unidas Sorority, Inc. was then established on April 12, 2009.
Collectively, they were committed to the firm belief that the presence of SLU would benefit this campus by EMPOWERING & INSPIRING
young women to find their voices while also providing women the opportunity to take part in a bond that would last
HASTA LA MUERTE.
